De Schalm for Kids
Free admission tickets for children
For children's or family performances, everyone needs a ticket, including toddlers and preschoolers who may still like to sit on your lap. Of course, you can take them on your lap, but you must reserve a separate seat for each child. Children are accompanied by at least one adult.
Since 2024, De Schalm has had a partnership with ASML whereby children can attend the theatre free of charge. More information about this can be found on the page below:
Children up to the age of 12 can attend youth performances free of charge
Age indication
Children's and family performances have an age indication. This is based on the content and length of the performance. Younger children may not be able to follow the performance or concert properly or may find it too exciting. This may cause them to disturb the performance for the performers and other visitors. This also applies to babies on your lap. We would appreciate it if you could take this into account!
Booster seats
For children's performances, booster seats are available at the auditorium entrances so that even the youngest children can see the performance properly. You are also welcome to bring your own cushion. We recommend using booster seats in rows 1, 2 and 3 of the Main Auditorium and on the side balconies. They are not necessary in the other rows.
Prams and buggies
Please ask our cloakroom staff where the best place to leave your pram or buggy is.
Changing facilities
The disabled toilet at the back of the foyer has a changing area and a toilet seat with a reducer.
Group visits
Groups are also very welcome at De Schalm. Would you like to visit a children's performance with your school, after-school care centre or other organisation? Please contact 040-253 35 78 or reserveringen@deschalm.com for the possibilities. Are you interested in a private children's performance (i.e. without other visitors)? Please contact 040-254 11 87 or evenementen@deschalm.com.
